Concept Board highlighting many of the key concepts, core values and visual cues behind the Sprout/Sproutbuilder brand. Hawaiian, Widgets, Universal, Available, Accessible, Growth, Creative Catalyst, etc. Early ID concepts presented in black and white to avoid inevitable color bias. This concept is the obligatory Hawaiian wave shape effort...with subtle integration of an S letterform and a less than cliche abstraction of the ubiquitous tube. Wave shape taken to the next level with integration of both the organic and inorganic elements of the 'Sprout' namesake. A wave, a tree, a flower, a gear - widgets from Hawaii to you with love. We know, too close to BP, but oftentimes explorations of the obvious lead to the sublime...just watch and you'll see this evolve in time. A popular direction on the leading edge of web idenities, the beaker speaks to the advanced functionality of Sprout's products; the intermeshing gears highlight Sprout's interoperability and integration across platforms and partners; lastly, the flourishing flora is representative of the creative laboratory Sprout has created within the Sproutbuilder application. Simple exploration of leaves and gears along with some custom letterforms. Remember that bit about explorations into the obvious? There might be something to this one... Final Round - The strongest mark/wordmark combination refined and reworked for balance of geometry and impact. This elegant solution conveys the cultural and technoligical heritage of the brand while simultaneously communicating the catalytic potential in the company's marquee product...all in one color! When the situation dictates, the depth and richness of the subtle accents (acheived in only two printed colors) give the logo a voice harmonious with its time and place.  Placing the logo surely at the top of the web 2.0 heap, these secondary shapes and soft highlights add to the vitality and integration of the form while avoiding the era's ubiquity of style.
