Aloha on Rails

What do you get when you pull together 300 of the nation’s best and brightest engineers and tech entrepreneurs in Hawaii? Well besides a lot of very blotchy-sunburned geeks, you get Aloha on Rails – the premier destination event for Ruby on Rails and Web Application Development. This unique, intimate three day conference brought the web community’s top speakers and talent to Waikiki to share their insights and inspiration with highly motivated and excited attendees.

Ocupop shepherded the event from concept through completion, providing sponsorship support, all collateral and marketing materials, and we even delivered a presentation on ‘Design Culture’ to the general assembly…and didn’t get anything thrown at us!

The night before the conference started, we had the bright idea of inventing an online card game to entertain all of the attendees. The beauty, and curse, of having brilliant programmers to work with is that ideas like this are not merely considered, but actually executed and hugely successful. Ninety percent of attendees participated and over 30 prizes were awarded to the winners.
